62 Restalrig Road South, Edinburgh

This building, located at 62 Restalrig Road South in Edinburgh, dates back to 1678. It is a two-storey, three-bay house with an irregular plan, featuring rubble stone walls and a crowstepped gable end at the center with plain margins.

The west (principal) elevation has a central advanced gable end that contains the staircase and a window that lights the landing. The entrance door is located in the return to the left and has an architraved surround, with a small slit opening above it. To the right, there is a later addition set at an oblique angle, while the narrow bay to the left is terminated by a later entrance way leading to buildings at the rear.

The house features 12-pane and 8-pane timber sash windows, with replacement red tile double pitch roofs and a flat roof on the right-hand bay.

The interior was not seen in 1996.
