Description

Laburnum is a late 17th century, two-storey and attic, six-bay dwelling house that has undergone later alterations and additions. The front is constructed of square and snecked rubble with raised and painted margins, featuring a band course.

On the north elevation, the main door is located in the third bay from the left, framed by an architraved door surround and topped with a four-light fanlight. There is another door in the left bay with a plain surround and a three-light fanlight above it. The windows follow a regular pattern, with a dummy window in the second bay from the left on the first floor and a gabled attic dormer in the left bay.

The east elevation is adjacent to another building. The south elevation is painted with raised margins in white and features a turnpike stair tower at the center that includes a first-floor window. This elevation has irregular fenestration, four attic dormers, and a narrow gabled wing to the west.

The west elevation is also adjoining another building. The windows throughout include 12-pane sash and case timber windows, as well as four-pane sash and case windows in the dormers. The roof is covered with grey slate and has crowstepped skews, with a rubble stack at the west gablehead and rendered stacks at the center and east gablehead.

The interior was not seen in 2000.
