Description
8 South Street in Duns is a later 19th century, two-storey terraced house with an attic, featuring three bays. The building is constructed from snecked and stugged cream sandstone, accented with ashlar dressings. It has a base course, long and short quoins, and moulded eaves. The windows are regularly spaced, with raised margins and roll-moulded arrises. The ground floor windows have cornices, while the first floor features windows with bracketed cills, cornices, and fascia. The central door is topped with a rectangular plate glass fanlight and a bracketed cornice. There are also two modern bipartite timber box dormers. The windows are timber sash and case with plate glass. The roof is covered with grey slates, has ashlar coped skews, and features brick stacks.
