8 North Crescent, Garlieston

8 North Crescent in Garlieston is a mid to later 19th century, two-storey, three-bay house that is part of a terrace. The exterior is constructed of squared and snecked stone, featuring red sandstone ashlar dressings and quoins on the right side. At the center, there is a round-arched and keystoned door, which has two-leaf panelled doors and a plate glass fanlight above. Flanking the door are round-arched and keystoned bipartite windows at the ground floor, with ashlar mullions and plate glass sash and case windows. The first-floor windows break the eaves and are designed in a Jacobean style with dormerheads, finials, and skewputts, although they have modern glazing. At the rear, there is a two-storey bay with a stack and a small flat-roofed extension. The rear features brick detailing around the window surrounds and quoins, along with two large rooflights. The roof is covered with graded grey slates, and there are mutual gable stacks with brick dressings and cans, as well as ashlar coped skew to the left. The property also has cast-iron rainwater goods.
