Description
16 North Crescent in Garlieston is a two-storey, three-bay house built in the later 18th century, with a refronting from the early 19th century. The exterior features roughcast walling with painted margins. The three-bay elevation includes a central margined shouldered door, and all windows are single light with deeply recessed sash and case designs, fitted with plate glass glazing. During the refronting, the eaves level was raised to create a parapet effect, which includes a parapet with a blocking course and rainwater drain holes. At the rear, there is a small lean-to bay. The house has a pitched roof with sandstone ridge and skews, hefty coped end stacks, and is covered with a slate roof.
