3 Arbuthnott Street, Stonehaven

3 Arbuthnott Street in Stonehaven is an early 19th century, two-storey and attic house that forms part of a terrace on the northwest side. The building is constructed from rough red sandstone ashlar, featuring ashlar dressings and projecting cills, except for the ground floor on the left side.

The southwest elevation, which is the principal facade, is symmetrical. It has a central door on the ground floor, with windows in the flanking bays and regular fenestration near the eaves on the first floor. There are modern dormer windows above the outer bays and a small cast-iron rooflight on the right.

The windows are replacement vertically sliding timber sash and case windows, with a 4-pane glazing pattern that has been stained or varnished. The roof is covered with grey slates, and there are coped ashlar stacks with cans, as well as ashlar-coped skews, including a moulded skewputt on the southwest side.
