26 Newtown Street, Duns

26 Newtown Street in Duns is an earlier 19th-century, two-storey, three-bay house that forms part of a symmetrical end-of-terrace. The building is constructed from coursed, squared, and stugged cream sandstone, featuring ashlar dressings. It has a base course, a band course between the floors, raised margins, and quoin strips.

The entrance boasts a Tuscan Doric pilastered doorcase, which includes a panelled door and a rectangular fanlight. The house has regular window arrangements, with a blank gable end on the right side. The rear elevation was not visible in 1993.

The windows are timber casement cross windows, and the house has ashlar coped skews, grey slate roofing, and rebuilt brick stacks.

The front of the property is bordered by low rendered walls with concrete coping, supporting small piers that hold picket fencing between them.
