Description
5 St Leonard's Bank in Perth is an early 1830s, two-storey, three-bay T-plan Classical villa that has been converted into flats. The building features a symmetrical principal elevation facing east and a large two-storey wing extending to the west towards St Leonard's Bank. The eastern facade is constructed of ashlar stone, while the other elevations are made of coursed, tooled rubble with ashlar margins and quoins. An eaves cornice runs along the top of the building.
The principal elevation to the east includes a central timber panelled door, which is set behind a screen of Ionic columns in antis. There are canted bay windows in the outer bays and moulded architraves around the upper floor windows.
The villa predominantly has plate glass timber sash and case windows on the west side, while the other elevations mainly feature 12-pane timber sash and case windows. The roofs are piended and covered with grey slates, and there are wallhead and ridge stacks, along with an extension that has central gablets with stacks.
Additionally, there is a gabled rubble outbuilding located to the northwest, which has boarded timber doors for the ground and loft that face the street. The property is enclosed by boundary walls on the north, south, east, and west sides. The eastern boundary features a low coped rubble wall with a central metal gate, while the northern, southern, and western boundaries consist of taller rubble walls.
