Royal British House, Leonard Street, Perth

The Royal British House, located on Leonard Street in Perth, is a former hotel dating from the mid-19th century. It is a three-storey building with an attic and features seven bays in a near symmetrical Classical style. The ground floor is constructed of ashlar, while the upper levels are made of squared and coursed rubble with contrasting raised, smooth margins and raised ashlar quoins. The ground floor has painted channelling, along with a base course, band course, and eaves band. The building includes pedimented dormers with sidelights and is rendered on the north, south, and east elevations.

To the right, there is a later four-bay single-storey and attic extension. The windows are predominantly replacement four-pane timber sash and case, with tilt and turn windows in the attic. The roof is covered with grey slates and features raised skews with small square plan columnar skewputts, as well as gablehead and ridge stacks. The building has been converted into flats as of 2009.
