Old Rossie Gate-Lodge, Rossie Priory

The Old Rossie Gate-Lodge at Rossie Priory is an earlier 19th-century single-storey and attic cottage with a rectangular plan and three bays, plus a later blank bay to the north. It is constructed of stugged and snecked rubble, with random rubble at the rear, and features stugged and margined ashlar dressings. The building has a rendered and lined addition, rebuilt brick stacks on ashlar bases, and a slate roof. The windows are 4-pane and plate glass sash and case types, with hoodmoulds above the door and windows on the east elevation and south gable, and bracketted eaves.

On the east elevation, there is a door at the center of the original cottage, with a window on either side and a blank bay on the far right. The south gable has a blocked window and a lattice-paned window in the attic. The west elevation features two windows, while the north gable has two doors on the left and a bipartite window on the right.

The interior has not been seen. The property is also marked by two pyramidal-capped gatepiers leading to the Rossie policies and two smaller pyramidal-capped gatepiers at the cottage, which are connected by a low rubble wall with squared coping.
