Description
Rossie Priory is a building designed by Wm. Atkinson of London in 1807. The main part of the house was demolished to ground floor level and converted into a terrace around 1949, with alterations made by Sir Basil Spence. The architecture features a Tudor Gothic style, with a front made of part brown and part red droved ashlar, while the remainder is constructed from red rubble. The building is two stories high and includes a gatehouse feature and a chapel, which was completed internally with an apse added in 1866 by T.S. Robertson, showcasing a good arcade. At the rear, there is a rubble-built clock tower.
Inside, there is an old west staircase with a plaster vault and a lantern light. One room from the old main block has had a new bay window added.
