Description
43 New Street in Dalry is a two-storey, three-bay building constructed in 1842. It features stugged ashlar with polished dressings and a painted ground floor. The elevation facing New Street has a central door with a fanlight and shop windows on either side. There is a single altered window on the return elevation. A band course and a continuous cornice run above the ground floor. On the first floor, there are four 12-pane sash windows, with two located on the return elevation.
The elevation facing Aitken Street has two bays, with a window on the left and a pilastered doorpiece with a cornice and blocking course on the right. There is a single central 12-pane window on the first floor and a wallhead stack. The building has angle margins, an eaves course, a cornice, and a blocking course. The roof is slate, with a piended design on the return elevation.
