Description

Courthill Fountain, dated 1876, is a tiered public fountain made of white and polished red granite. It features a quatrefoil basin with squat angle columns and a projecting lip on one side. The second basin is supported by a solid central column and four banded columns that have gabled bases and stylised capitals. Above this, a smaller upper basin sits on a banded clustered column. An inscription on the front reads, "Presented by Thomas Biggart of Baidland to the inhabitants of Dalry 1876." The fountain was relocated from Courthill Street to Townsend Road around 2009-2010.
