Description
152 High Street in Irvine is a late 19th-century, two-storey, two-bay Free Style Jacobean tenement that features a shop on the ground floor. The building is constructed from red sandstone ashlar and includes a base course, a dividing cornice, a billeted wallhead, and a profiled gutter. To the right, there is a segmental pediment above the doorway, which has pendant carving and a cuttaed panel inscribed with 'Unionist Club' above the door. To the left of the entrance, there is a door and a square shop window, both with banding on the architraves.
On the first floor, above the main door, there is a window, and to the left, a bowed oriel window is flanked by channelled pilasters. The eaves break in a shaped gablehead, which is topped with ball finials on the pilasters and additional pendant carving. The windows are timber sash and case, featuring small-pane uppers and plate glass lower sashes. The roof is covered with grey slates and has a skew to the left.
