Description

61-63 Glaisnock Street in Cumnock is a later 19th-century, two-storey and attic tenement building with three bays and shops on the ground floor, situated on sloping ground. The building features red courses with cream ashlar dressings and a slate roof. It has a base course on the left side of the ground floor, a corniced wallhead, and a pierced parapet above the center bay. The windows are a mix of two- and four-pane sash and case styles, with chamfered jambs and architraved detailing on the ground and first floors to the right and in the center of the first floor. The gables are coped with gabletted skews, skewputts, and finials with kneelers.

On the front elevation, there are two doors at the center where there was originally one, with the original jambs removed. Above the doors is a keystoned round-headed fanlight and a massive consoled and corniced parapet. To the left, there are full-height canted windows with a corniced cill and parapet on the first floor, along with a window in the attic gable. To the right, there is a slightly projecting bay with a ground floor window, a bipartite window on the first floor featuring a corniced cill and lintel, and another window in the attic gable.

The rear elevation has not been seen, and the interior has also not been seen.
