Description

38, 40, and 42 Ayr Road in Cumnock are three single-storey Gothic shop units built around 1897. The shops feature triple cast iron arches with traceried spandrels. The shop at number 38 has only two arches and a closed-in east bay, with recessed doors and original woodwork, topped by a crested parapet. The building has a battlemented red rubble gable facing the churchyard.
