Description
This building consists of three shops, possibly built for that purpose, dating from around 1800. It is constructed of brick and has a plain tiled roof. The structure is three storeys high and features a six-window range facing St Mary's Street, with a canted angle at the junction with Church Street and a one-bay return elevation on Church Street. The shop fronts have been inserted, with the one at No. 20 likely being original. It has a central door flanked by low windows divided into small panes, along with outer doorways that provide access to the upper storeys and a rear passage, all beneath a single fascia. The upper windows are 12-pane sashes with flat-arched gauged brick heads, and there are blind window spaces in the central bay. A moulded stuccoed eaves cornice forms a parapet at the top. There is a door in a moulded architrave with console brackets to the cornice at the angle. The right-hand gable is coped, and there is a stack on the left.
