This building is a large, symmetrical two-storey villa from the late 19th or early 20th century, located at 18 Matheson Road in Stornoway, Lewis. It features a painted render with contrasting detailing and modern glazing, topped with a slate roof. The villa has a gabled shape and is deep in plan, with a five-bay front arranged in a 1-3-1 pattern. The central three bays are topped with a shaped gable, and the doorway is sheltered by a canopied hood. The outer bays have canted windows on the ground floor, while the first-floor windows are bipartite with steep-gabled dormer heads. There are end stacks on the roof. Surrounding the property is a boundary wall that steps down to follow the slope and is topped with decorative cast-iron railings.
