32 Scotland Street, Stornoway, Lewis

32 Scotland Street is a large house from the late 19th century, which could also be described as a double villa or a tenement. It features a symmetrical front and an iron-railed garden. The building has two storeys with an attic and consists of five bays arranged as two on the outer sides, one in the middle, and two on the other outer side. The exterior is harled with rendered margins, and it has sash windows and a slate roof.

The house has a gabled design and is deep on plan. The central doorway is adorned with a deep canopied painted ashlar hood, and there is a blind window above it on the first floor. On either side of the doorway, there are two bays with narrow single lights in the inner bays, and bipartite windows in the outer bays, which feature recessed mullions. The gabled dormers above the outer bays are also bipartite and may be original, complete with pedimented gables and finials. The roof also includes skylights and end stacks.

The front and side garden is enclosed by a low wall topped with decorative cast-iron railings, and the original cast-iron gate is still intact.
