Description
The Parish Church in Barvas, Lewis, is one of a series of three nearly identical churches, with the others located at Garrabost and Cross. It was originally a United Free Church, built around 1910. The church features a large box-type structure with a piend roof and tall, narrow round-arched windows. It has five bays on the flanks and an entrance front on the west side, which includes a central door flanked by single windows and topped by a belfry. There is a wallhead stack on the opposite wall, positioned above a low vestry outshot. The original windows have small-paned glazing, while the roof is covered in slate and the church has modern dry-ash.
