Description

This is a late 19th century road bridge located in Shawbost, Lewis. It features a single segmental arch spanning a stream, constructed from squared rubble blocks. The abutments are shallowly battered. A low parapet with coping slabs runs along the top of the bridge, and wing walls, also of rubble with concrete coping, were added in the 20th century. The statutory address is Shawbost Bridge.
