Description
The Walled Garden at Uig Parish Manse is a former parish manse, likely dating from the 18th century. It is a two-storey building with three bays. In 1824, a large jamb was added, creating a T-plan layout. The building has undergone several alterations over the years, including late 19th to early 20th century skews and skewputts, as well as a two-storey porch in the re-entrant angle. Unsympathetic glazing was installed around 1988 or 1989, along with rooflights and three narrow dormers. The exterior is harled, including the end stacks, and features a slate roof, with low wings at the rear.
At the back of the property, there is an outbuilding that has been completely modernised, connected to the house by a modern link. Adjacent to the manse is a glebe or walled garden, which has rubble-built walls that are linked to the walls of an old graveyard and the site of a former parish church.
