Description
11A Reef in Uig is a two up/two down type house built in 1940 by the Department of Agriculture and Fisheries for Scotland. It is traditionally constructed from stone, featuring attic windows that break through the eaves and have piended dormer heads. The house has a central door and timber-mullioned two-light outer windows, which now have modern glazing; these were previously sash windows with an eight-pane glazing pattern.
The building has skews and end stacks, and it has a replacement slate roof that was originally covered with asbestos tiles and, before that, graded slates. There is also a door located on the otherwise blank rear wall.
