Wandene, 2 Goathill Crescent, Stornoway, Lewis

Wandene is a symmetrical villa built in 1906 by John F Matthew, located at 2 Goathill Crescent in Stornoway, Lewis. The villa is set behind an iron-railed boundary wall and features two storeys with a compact front elevation. It is composed of two full-height, closely spaced canted bays, with the main roof extending over a narrow open area between them. At the ground level, the bays are linked by an archway that forms a porch, which includes a recessed panelled and glazed door positioned in the center. Above the porch, a balustrade encloses a small balcony. The villa has sash windows, with bipartite arrangements on the front, featuring a 12-pane glazing pattern. It also includes end stacks and a distinctive roof that is essentially a shallow pyramid, angled at the corners. The property is surrounded by low perimeter walls topped with decorative cast iron railings, and it retains its original gate.
