High Church, Goathill Road, Stornoway, Lewis

High Church is a 19th century Gothic church located at the corner of Goathill Road in Stornoway, Lewis. The building has a rectangular plan featuring a central gabled panel and a belfry with pinnacles on the main gabled front facing Matheson Road. It includes tall lancet windows throughout, although these have been replaced with modern versions. The exterior is finished with dry-dash and painted margins, while the belfry is constructed of yellow ashlar and set above a shallow out-set. Inside, there is a single gallery light in the gable-head, and a hall adjoins the church at the rear. The interior features a three-sided gallery supported by cast-iron columns, with a panelled timber front. The church is enclosed by a low boundary wall topped with wrought-iron railings that have a thistle detail, and there are circular-section gatepiers at the front with conical caps.
