Description
Barvas Lodge is a late 19th to early 20th century, two-storey, three-bay villa located on Matheson Road in Stornoway, Lewis. The building features an L-shaped front with an advanced gable on the left side. It has a round-arched central door and canted windows on the ground floor. The structure is built of rubble with rendered dressings that resemble red ashlar. The roof is covered with slate, and the original timber trusses have been removed, leaving iron finials in place. At each end of the building, there are stacks. The boundary walls are topped with cast-iron railings that display art nouveau detailing.
