Kirkville, 46 South Street, Fochabers

Kirkville is a house located at 46 South Street in Fochabers, dating from around 1800. It is a two-storey, three-bay structure facing south, with a return gable and a rear wing that extends to Charlotte Street. The exterior features harled walls with tooled and polished ashlar dressings and margins. The central entrance has a pedimented doorpiece, flanked by windows with aprons. The fenestration is regular, with single windows on both the ground and first floors of the west gable, all featuring 12-pane glazing. The house has coped panelled end stacks and a roof made of graded Banffshire slate. There are slate-headed cast-iron stays on the west gable.

The single-storey and attic wing, which has four bays, includes an entrance to Charlotte Street. Inside, the house boasts corniced ceilings, a semi-circular stairwell, panelled doors, and window shutters. The drawing and dining rooms feature painted timber chimneypieces that were removed from Dipple House in Speymouth Parish.
