Description

This building is a town house located at 7 The Square in Fochabers, designed by John Baxter around 1790. It faces north and is a two-storey, symmetrical structure with five bays and a return gable to Charlotte Street. The construction features mixed rubble with red sandstone rubble gables, and it has tooled sandstone ashlar dressings and margins.

The central door is set in a round-headed recessed entrance, flanked by ground floor windows that are positioned behind a shallow blind arcade. There are narrow windows on the first floor, with two windows on both the ground and first floors facing Charlotte Street. The house also features a central round-headed attic window and square-headed attic windows in the west gable, all with two-pane glazing.

The building is topped with moulded coped end stacks and a graded Banffshire slate roof.
