Description
Bellie Manse, located at 11 The Square in Fochabers, is a two-storey, symmetrical five-bay house built in 1788 by John Baxter. The building faces north and features a return gable to George Street. It is constructed of mixed rubble with red sandstone rubble gables, and has tooled ashlar sandstone dressings and margins. The entrance is a central door set in a round-headed recessed area, flanked by ground floor windows that are positioned behind a shallow blind arcade. The first floor has narrow windows, while the return gables feature paired square-headed attic windows, all with 2-pane glazing. The house has moulded coped end stacks and a graded Banffshire slate roof. There is a modern extension at the rear.
Inside, some original field panelled window shutters are still present. The property is also bordered by high rubble garden walls along George Street.
