Description
Chapel House, located at 88, 90, and 92 Land Street in Keith, was built in 1878. It is a two-storey and attic building with five bays, facing east. The front features contrasting coloured masonry, with coursed red sandstone dressings, while the south gable is constructed of rubble. The central entrance is located at number 92, and there is a rear entrance as well.
The main front has a central door set in a slightly advanced bay that is topped with a gable. This bay is framed by panelled pilasters, and above the door is a stair window with a round-headed top light, all featuring margined glazing. To the right of the central entrance is a shop entrance, which may have been added later, flanked by windows. The ground and first-floor windows are linked by a deep sandstone corniced lintel course.
The building also has two canted dormers with four-pane glazing. Decorative features include ball and cast-iron finials on the central bay, coped end stacks, and a slate roof. The original rainwater goods are dated.
