Old Mill Theatre, Millbank, Thurso

The Old Mill Theatre, located on Millbank in Thurso, dates from around 1800. It is a roughly T-shaped, two- and three-storey structure that includes a former mill and the former miller's house, which is now used as a theatre. The building is constructed of rubble with tooled dressings and features irregular window arrangements. The miller's house is positioned at a right angle to the west.

The mill has a stepped design with a wide basket-arched pend that passes through the center. There is a forestair leading to the door on the northeast elevation. A later raised walkway connects the southeast gable of the miller's house to the mill, approached by a rubble forestair, both equipped with simple metal handrails. The mill predominantly features 9-pane timber glazing.

The miller's house is a two-storey, three-bay structure with a prominent crow-stepped gable on the northwest side. It has a string course, a blind center Gothic window, and a bull's eye window above the fronting end stack. The southwest elevation has two dormer windows that break the wallhead, and the house features 12-pane timber glazing. Both buildings have roofs made of Caithness slate.
