7 Janet Street, Thurso

7 Janet Street in Thurso is an early 19th century, two-storey house featuring a wide three-bay design. The front is made of tooled ashlar with polished ashlar dressings, while the flanks and rear are rendered. The entrance has a paired ashlar pilastered and corniced doorpiece, with narrow blind side lights next to the outer first-floor windows, which are connected to the central window by a cill band. The outer bays are marked by long and short quoins. There are first-floor windows in the southwest gable and small central attic windows in each gable, all with 12-pane glazing. The house has a worn moulded eaves cornice and corniced end stacks, which have been renewed on the southwest side, topped with a slate roof. Additionally, there is a single-storey, four-bay wing to the southwest that connects the house to No 8 Janet Street.
