Ivy Cottage, Ulbster

Ivy Cottage is a single-storey cottage from the later to late 19th century that was raised to include an attic in 1931. It is part of an L-plan group that includes an adjoining byre, which is listed separately. The cottage is harled and runs in a northwest to southeast direction.

The southwest elevation features three bays, with a central door that is sheltered by a gabled timber porch. There are small windows on either side of the door and gabled timber dormers above that break the eaves. The northwest elevation has a small window on the ground to the right, while the southeast elevation includes a later single-storey gabled addition on the left and the corner of the byre on the outer left. The rear elevation is mostly blank, with a small window at the centre. The windows are 4-pane timber sash and case. The roof is covered with graded grey slates and has a stone ridge, along with harled gablehead stacks.

The garden walls consist of rubble coped rubble walls, with wire fencing to the northeast and southeast.
