Description
The Curing Yard and House in Whaligoe is an early 19th-century former herring curing station. It features a symmetrical, two-storey, south-facing, three-bay house with a central door that is sheltered by a piended porch, which also has a side entrance. On either side of the house are single-storey, three-bay wings, each with a central door and a piended roof. The windows have 12-pane glazing, and there is an inserted picture window in the east gable. The central portion has end stacks, and the roof is covered with concrete tiles. At the rear, the property is enclosed by a high coped rubble wall that includes a segmental-headed arched entrance located close to the house on the west side.
