Description

36 High Street in Aberlour is an early 19th-century, south-facing, single-storey dwelling featuring a wide three-bay layout. It has single-bay, piended roof wings that are set back at the east and west gables. The exterior is constructed of rubble with contrasting tooled ashlar dressings. The central door is sheltered by a painted timber porch with a pediment, and the windows have 12-pane glazing. The house has coped end stacks and a graded slate roof that is coated with modern slurry. At the rear, there is a harled single-storey and attic wing.

Inside, the property features panelled pine doors with simple moulded architraves, panelled window shutters, and simple moulded ceiling cornices in the entrance hall and the front rooms. There is also a single-storey rubble range for stables or a gig house at the rear of the house, topped with a slate roof.

The house and garden are enclosed by a roughly coped dry-stone wall.
