Description
The Orphanage and Clock Tower in Aberlour was designed by Alexander Ross in 1889. It features a three-stage clock tower that is square in shape, constructed from mixed granite rubble with tooled ashlar dressings. At the northeast and southwest, there are round-headed archways at the base, while the other two sides have blind arches. Each face of the third stage has paired blind Romanesque arcades and clock faces, topped by a shallow pyramidal slate roof. Additionally, there is an armorial shield under a bishop's mitre set into the southwest face.
