Description
Whaligoe Steps are a set of steps from the mid-18th century, which have undergone significant renovations and repairs in the early 19th century. The flight consists of 330 flagstone steps that descend a steep cliffside from a former curing station to the quay below. The quay itself dates to the early 19th century and is a raised rubble platform where boats were hauled from the sea. A part of the winch that was used on the platform still survives.
