Description

Winnowing Barn, built in the 18th century, is a single-storey, long rectangular barn with a gabled roof, constructed from rubble with some harl-pointing. On the north elevation, there is a door located to the left of centre, accompanied by three vertical slits to the right and one blocked slit to the outer left. The south elevation features a small window, which may have been a later alteration from a former door, located under the eaves to the right, and an apparent former wide opening to the left that is now blocked with rubble. The gabled end elevations include a vertical ventilation slit in the west gablehead, with a blocked slit below it, and a square window in the east gablehead. The barn has raised skews and angled skewblocks, and is finished with purple slates.
