Description

The Kildonan Bridge is an early 19th century, single-span rubble bridge crossing the River Helmsdale, formerly known as the Ullie. The bridge has a slightly hump-backed profile and features a dressed rubble arch ring and parapet. Shallow end buttresses are present, along with splayed approaches. Various cast iron braces are incorporated into the structure. A plaque is affixed to the southeastern side of the bridge, commemorating Marjory Eadon, who accidentally drowned whilst fishing below the bridge in June 1927. The statutory address is Kildonan Bridge over River Helmsdale.
