Description

The Church of Scotland Manse in West Clyne is a house dating from around 1775. It originally consists of a two-storey structure, which has been expanded by the addition of a two-storey L-plan range on the south elevation during the early 19th century, creating a new five-bay main front. The exterior is harled with tooled ashlar margins and dressings. The left (west) side features two advanced and gabled bays, with a corniced entrance located in the first recessed bay. The rear of the original house has two symmetrical windows on both the ground and first floors in the east gable, with 12-pane glazing. The house has coped and panelled end stacks and a slate roof.

Attached to the west gable is a single-storey, three-bay service cottage, which has a central door and a later gabled dormer in the northwest. This cottage also has a slate roof. The property includes a walled garden, which is a coped, pinned rubble semi-circular structure featuring three bee boles with ashlar lintels and jambs on the south face of the north wall. Additionally, there are square ashlar gate piers with pyramidal caps marking the entrance.
