Description
The steading at Clynelish House in Brora dates from 1866 and consists of a large L-plan range of farm buildings. The southeast re-entrant is filled by three jerkin-headed gabled symmetrical bays, each featuring a wide central entrance. The structure is built of rubble with bull-faced rubble dressings. The site slopes down to the north, allowing for four segmental-headed cart arches and a boiler house with a truncated chimney at a lower level. The building has louvred saddle ridge vents and slate roofs.
Additionally, there is a small square single-storey dairy, also from around 1866, constructed of rubble with a pyramidal slated roof. This roof has a central louvred vent topped by a diminutive pyramidal roof with a decorative cast-iron finial. There is a later rubble lean-to extension on the south elevation of the dairy. Inside, the dairy features a plain interior fitted with stone shelves.
