Virginia Court, Virginia Street, Glasgow

Virginia Court, located on Virginia Street in Glasgow, dates back to around 1817. It consists of three storeys and a basement, forming a court with two arched entrances on the west side, while one entrance on the east side is blocked. The building is constructed from ashlar stone and features a moulded cill band at the first floor, along with a cornice and blocking course.

On the north side, there is an 11-bay terrace that includes two boldly moulded Ionic doorpieces. The doorpiece on the east side has an unusual and elaborate wrought-iron lamp bracket. The windows feature 12-pane glazing, and some interior elements, such as panelled shutters, are still present.

The south side has a seven-bay terrace, which includes a modern lift that projects from the facade. It also features two boldly moulded Ionic doorpieces, with the eastern one now converted into a window. An elaborate wrought-iron lamp bracket is located at the west doorway, and some 12-pane glazing remains.
