Description
9-11 Comely Green Place in Edinburgh is a plain classical terrace built in 1829, consisting of four dwellings and two basement flats. The building features a ten-bay, three-storey structure with a basement. The east and north elevations are made of coursed cream ashlar, with rustication on the ground floor of the east elevation only, while the rear is constructed of rubble. Stone steps and platts lead across the basement areas. There are dividing bands between the basement and ground floors, as well as between the ground and first floors, and a cill course at the second floor on the east and north elevations. The building is topped with an eaves cornice and has regular fenestration.
The doors are timber panelled with border-glazed fanlights, and the windows are timber sash and case with 12-pane glazing. The roof is covered with grey slates, and there are plain stacks with cylindrical cans.
The boundary wall features spear-headed cast iron railings for the basement areas and steps, along with a coped rubble boundary wall at the rear.
