Description
39 Newark Drive is an asymmetrical villa built around 1880, featuring two storeys and an attic. The design includes paired brackets supporting deep eaves and a square entrance bay that is recessed to the right, rising to form a square tower. The front of the villa has two bays and is constructed from stone-cleaned ashlar, with mullioned windows in the projecting bays that contain plate glass sashes, topped with pediments. The attic houses a billiard room with an unusual dormer, and there are chimney stacks along with slated roofs. The property is complemented by decorative square gatepiers and a low boundary wall along the street.
