Newark Lodge, 41 Newark Drive, Glasgow

Newark Lodge is a late 19th-century, asymmetrical two-storey, three-bay villa located at 41 Newark Drive in Glasgow. The villa features a steep French roof over the advanced right bay, which also includes a projecting full-height window with curved outer lights, topped by a wall-head dormer. There is an original balustraded porch in the re-entrant angle, although the door is blocked. The building is constructed of polished ashlar and showcases sculptured details, including classical ornamentation. The windows in the left bay are adorned with Egypto-Greek carvings on the pilaster-mullion capitals. The villa has stacks and slate roofs. There is a stepped boundary wall along the street, and massive modern additions have been recessed on the right flank and to the rear.
