Viewforth House, 2 North Overgate, Kinghorn

Viewforth House, located at 2 North Overgate in Kinghorn, is an 18th-century building that was altered in the 19th century. It is a two-storey house with a basement, featuring a rectangular plan and three bays, situated in an irregular terrace on sloping ground towards the southeast. The exterior is rendered with painted margins.

The southwest elevation, which is the principal facade, is symmetrical. It has two small square windows in the basement to the right of the center. The central bay at ground level has two steps leading up to a deep-set panelled timber door topped with a tall two-pane fanlight. There are windows in the flanking bays, and the first floor has regular fenestration.

On the northeast elevation, there are windows on each floor in the left bay and an off-centre right bay at the first floor. An ancillary building to the right obscures further details. Traditional pantiled dormer windows project over the off-centre right and left bays, with a small modern rooflight to the right.

The windows are timber sash and case with a 12-pane glazing pattern. The roof is covered with pantiles and features a slate easing course at the eaves. The building has coped ashlar stacks with thackstanes and cans, as well as ashlar-coped skews.
