St Leonard's Mill, St Leonard's Place, Kinghorn

St Leonard's Mill, located at St Leonard's Place in Kinghorn, is a late 18th-century building that was enlarged in 1838. This former flax mill is two stories high, has a rectangular plan, and features a flat roof. The exterior is constructed from stugged, squared, and snecked rubble, with droved ashlar quoins, an eaves cornice, and a blocking course. The building has segmental-headed openings.

On the southeast elevation, there are two-leaf doors set within a segmental-headed arch at the ground level, with a blinded opening above in the penultimate bay to the right, and a blocked opening to the outer right at ground level. There are seven windows to the left on each floor.

The northwest elevation displays regular fenestration on the rear. The southeast elevation is a single-storey section with a slated pitched roof, featuring a central two-leaf panelled timber door and blocked doors in the flanking bays.

The first floor on the southeast and northwest elevations has small-pane glazing patterns, while the ground floor southeast windows mostly consist of plate glass in timber frames.

Inside, the mill features shallow brick barrel-vaults that are rendered and supported by cast-iron columns, with narrower columns leading to further vaulted areas on the first floor.
