Auld Mill House, 6 Braehead Road, Glamis

Auld Mill House is an 18th-century, two-storey, three-bay house with a single-storey wing, situated on a sloping site at 6 Braehead Road in Glamis. The building features coursed rubble with painted margins, while the rear and northeast side are painted or rendered.

The southeast elevation is symmetrical, with a small modern porch at the center bay on the ground floor and windows in the flanking bays, one of which has been altered to a bipartite design. The first floor has regular fenestration. To the outer right, there is a recessed single-storey wing with a boarded timber door on the left.

On the southwest elevation, there is a window on each floor at the outer right and a small window to the right of center in the gablehead. The northeast elevation has a single-storey wing projecting to the right and a small window on the recessed face to the left. The gablehead of the single-storey wing has been repaired and raised in brick.

The northwest elevation is largely obscured but shows visible windows to the left of center on the ground floor and in the center and left on the first floor. The house features plate glass glazing in timber sash and case windows, grey slates on the roof, and coped ashlar stacks with cans.
