Description
Post Office House, located at 2 The Square in Glamis, dates back to 1765. This building is a two-storey, six-bay terraced pair of houses that has been converted into a hotel. The exterior features a dry-dash finish with raised stone margins.
On the southeast elevation, the ground floor has three windows to the left of the center, with the outer left window featuring a dated lintel. There is an additional window to the right, followed by a blank bay and a glazed door at the outer right. The first floor has a regular arrangement of windows, except for the penultimate bay on the right, which contains a small window.
The southwest elevation is gabled, with a window on each floor at the outer right and another window in the gablehead above. There is a rubble link to the Strathmore Arms Hotel on the outer left.
The windows are timber sash and case with an 8-pane glazing pattern. The roof is covered with grey slates, and there are brick stacks with cans.
