Imperial Hotel, 12 Clyde Street West, Helensburgh

The Imperial Hotel, located at 12 Clyde Street West in Helensburgh, is an earlier 19th-century building. It is a three-storey and attic hotel with four bays, featuring a rendered and painted exterior. The design includes base and cill courses, raised margins, an eaves and lintel course, a cornice, and long and short quoins.

On the south elevation facing Clyde Street, the ground floor has been modernised, with a doorway on the outer left and three windows to the right. The first and second floors each have four symmetrically arranged windows.

The hotel has uPVC replacement windows and a grey slate roof. There is a slate-hung gabled dormer in the centre with a round-headed light, and canted dormers on either side, each topped with a gablet over the central light. A corniced stack is located at the right end of the building.
